EXPLANATION OF CAUSE OF DEATH:
(From Alice, Stacy's mother)

Some of you have asked, was he sick, did he have a car wreck, etc.? I apologize for not giving more details earlier, but it was all I could do to get out the announcement. Due to possible guilt that the enemy wants to put on us during a time like this, I broke down and cried when the autopsy doctor told me that Larry had almost no plaque in his arteries. That's how his father and grandfather had died...massive coronary from artherioschorosis. That comment demolished any guilt I was fighting. I spent the last 30 years feeding Larry healthy food to prevent artherioschorosis. A good diet DOES pay off. He had almost no plaque and a healthy heart. I was shocked to find out Larry's cause of death was Cardiac Tamponade.

His aorta (the largest artery in the body) ruptured at the arch above the heart, in what the doctor called a "spontaneous weakening of the tissue wall of the aorta". The heart continued to beat, pumping blood into the sac that surrounded the heart. When the sac was full and the pressure became too great, the heart was shut down from beating. He passed through the veil in less than 5 minutes. I was with him giving him CPR, which in this case, had no effect. I thought it was an aneurysm. The doctor emphatically said, "No, it was not an aneurysm, based on the technical definition of an aneurysm. It just spontaneously occurred."

I asked what causes an aorta to rupture. Usually it's high blood pressure, but that was ruled out based on his previous year's doctor's exam, the excellent diet and also his exercise. Secondly, it would be trauma, like a car wreck or similar thing. That did not happen. There were no exact answers as to why his aorta ruptured. A theory would be: possible congenital weakness, since he had chest pains since he was 7 years old. I asked if sleep deprivation had anything to do with it. The answer was..."it's possible, but we can't prove it." Larry worked LONG, hard hours on his books and music to the point of exhaustion sometimes.

Bottomline, it was his time.

This is a special poem that Larry wrote for Stacy and gave to her on her 10th birthday.

"POEM FOR STACY" or "STACY MARIE"
There is a girl who is to me
As sweet and precious as can be
Her spirit like a bird in flight
Is free and soars within God's light

She has a smile that thrills my heart
And helps to make the darkness part
Her mind is keen and dwells upon
God's Kingdom and His risen Son

I watch her grow 'tis bittersweet
To think that she may someday meet
A man whom she will love so dear
That she'll follow him and leave us here

Should that occur for her I'd be glad
Yet watching her go I know I'd be sad
For I'm convinced there never will be
One to take the place of my Stacy Marie

I love you Babygirl~

This is a letter to Stacy from her father that he wrote in February 1996 (her senior year of high school-17 years old) before she went to LA to participate in the NARAS All-American Grammy Choir:

Stacy Marie,
You are my precious daughter. How I love you! How proud I am of you!  Words seem to fall short to be able to fully express how much your mother and I love you and are proud of you.  Not so much because of what you have accomplished (though your accomplishments have been wonderful indeed), but more especially because of who and what you are:
       A shining star.
A gem encased in gold, emanating the glories of an inner light and fire.
A velvety flower of radiating beauty and proven strength.
A daughter and a woman of God.
As you come into the fullness of your calling to be a lover of God, resting in Him and trusting Him in all things and at all times, I encourage you to not be distracted by the glitter and noise of this passing world.  It is tempting, else there would be no proving therein. But it is not worth sacrificing the eternal for the sake of the temporal. No, rather, always sacrifice the temporal whenever it would hinder you from laying hold of the eternal, my daughter and sister.
You are a chosen vessel to bear His glory. It is an honor for you that the Lord has allowed you (trusting you) to go into the very heart of the enemy's camp. Music and the arts is like the flute, and the devil is the pied piper, leading the souls of damned humanity into hell, all the while dulling and silencing their consciences with busyness, sensuality, and much ado about nothing. This is not to say that music and the arts are evil.  By no means!  To the contrary, they are the very gifts of God to us all.  But because of their power and ability to be easily perverted into darkness (for that which is most pure has the greatest capacity to reveal evil if not guarded), the enemy has laid hold of them, and with them has twisted the souls of humanity.
Stacy, my love, guard your heart with all diligence. The course of your life will be determined thereby.  Draw aside daily, if possible, if only for a few moments, and contemplate eternity. Keep the eternal goal always before you. It is your calling to belong fully and completely to the Lord of Glory - Jesus Christ. Do not grieve His Spirit by running after other lovers. He must be Number One - the only one. He is worth whatever He may seem to require of you. He is worth it. He is worth it all. Keep this in your mind forever.
Look not just at the industry of entertainment. Look through it. See it for what it is, and see it in light of the eternal Kingdom of God. The world will say that you are crazy, but let them say what they will. What we yearn to hear is His voice, now and always, and one day declaring, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord and the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." That is life! That is greater than all the adulation and riches of the universe!
Ponder these things often, and do not allow your heart to stray. Keep to the course, and keep your vision keen by keeping your walk clean.
I love you, my precious daughter. You will forever be my Baby-Girl, even as I see you spread your wings ever wider as you sense the wind of God blowing upon you, beckoning you onward and upward, and leading you into new vistas of experience and wisdom.
You are loved. You are covered. You are prayed for, and you are thought of often.
When times are tough, when the way is rough, when friends seem nowhere near, always know that we are here, loving you and believing in you - your family on earth and in Heaven. You are never alone - never. Never allow yourself to believe otherwise. You will never be stranded, for you are branded with the seal of the Holy Spirit. The Lord looks upon you and declares,
"There is my daughter, Stacy. I know her by name, for she is engraved upon My hand, and she is Mine. I will move mountains for her and stop the raging of armies for My purposes in and through her life. She will complete all My work, for I have heard her prayers and the prayers of those to whom I have given her for upbringing. She will complete all My will, for My hand is upon her. O My daughter, do not be as the horse which must be bridled, but be as the water which goes to the lowest place and is adaptable, accomodating, and life-giving. As you are small in your own sight, I will be big in and through you. For I am Your God, and I love you, Stacy, My daughter; Stacy, My love. Rest in Me, and allow Me to perfect that which concerns you. Have I not blessed you? Are not your talents but the deposit of the Most High Who is the Creator of music and the arts? Walk with Me and allow Me to walk and work in you, and many will be brought to see and know that I am God and you are Mine. Many will be brought to Me through My working in and through you. Only remain small in your own sight, and grow deeper and evermore impassioned with Me and the pursuit of My Kingdom. For soon you will see greater things than what you have yet seen. You will walk in new paths. You will hear new words and new songs from the Throne. Only remain close to My heart, for it is there you will hear Me speaking to yours."
Stacy, my love, I love you and rejoice in my God for allowing me the privilege and honor of giving birth to you, raising you, and coming to see and know you as an individual who loves the Lord and has her own identity in Him.
I kiss you, my sweet. You are my precious daughter. You are my Baby-Girl.

Forever,
Daddy

STACY'S ENTRY IN HER FATHER'S ONLINE GUESTBOOK

February 16, 2005

"Daddy, oh Daddy, I love you so much. I'll always be your Babygirl who loves to feel her Daddy's Touch."

I love you Mama. I love you Cliff. I love you Nanny. I love you Eddie. Together, forever, we will be diving into His heart... with Dad. Plunging into the depths of God. The Lord has promised, "The Best Is Yet To Come." Hope of hopes fulfilled. Eternal perspective completely revealed. Everlasting family reunion.

Thank you to everyone who has loved us, who continues to love us; who loved and loves my daddy. He is the best daddy in the whole wide world, in the universe, in all of creation! I am blessed forever because I am the daughter of Larry Trammell! He is more alive now than ever before! He longed for this day. It came sooner than expected, but it has been made evident that it was God's time for him to go.

Even though we may not fully understand God or His ways, where else can we go? Knowing Him is eternal life. "'You do not want to leave too, do you?' Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, 'Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.'" (John 6:67-68) "Now this is eternal life; that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." (John 17:3) That was one of dad's favorite Scriptures. Daddy would ask me and Cliff "Why were you born?" He taught us the answer, "You were born to love God, know God, and obey God."

Concerning dad's passing I am convinced, "Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds and yields a rich harvest." (John 12:24) Our lives are that harvest, and the many other lives that are to follow! There are many seeds that we have yet to see come to full fruition, but even now much life is being produced through dad's death! His death was not in vain. Let us allow God's resurrection life to be formed and revealed through us completely. The greatest act of love is what has happened. "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:12-13)

Daddy's favorite Scripture is John 14:21, "The person who has my commands and keeps them is the one who (really) loves Me, and whoever (really) loves Me will be loved by My Father. And I (too) will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him- I will let Myself be clearly seen by him and make Myself real to him." Larry Trammell: man of faith. He saw God here while sojourning through this temporal realm. He now sees Him clearly, face to face, in eternity. "For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim (blurred) reflection (of reality as in a riddle or enigma), but then (when perfection comes) we shall see in reality and face to face! Now I know in part (imperfectly); but then I shall know and understand fully and clearly, even in the same manner as I have been fully and clearly known and understood (by God)." (1 Corinthians 13:12) He is diving into His heart, even as he spoke of the night before he passed. Larry Trammell KNOWS God!

He has stepped over the veil, just slightly ahead of us. He would say to us that our time is short. "Yet you do not know (the least thing) about what may happen tomorrow. What is the nature of your life? You are (really) but a wisp of vapor - a puff of smoke, a mist - that is visible for a little while and then disappears (into thin air)." (James 4:14) We are "Dust in the Wind". When dad talked of death he often shared the Scripture Ecclesiastes 7:2, "It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting; for that is the end of all men, and the living will lay it to heart." Funerals, and people dying remind us of how short life is. NOW is the time to make our calling and election sure. NOW is the time to live for the things unseen that will never fade. "Man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble. He springs up like a flower and withers away; like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure." (Job 14:1-2) "As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more." (Psalm 103:15-16) "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the Lord blows on them. Surely the people are grass. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever." (Isaiah 40:6-8)

And yet we rejoice for, "...He also has set eternity in the hearts of men..." (Ecclesiastes 3:11) We are strangers in this world. We make the good confession as Jesus did and as Dad did: "My kingdom is not of this world." (John 18:37, 1 Timothy 6:13) "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:16-18) "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade- kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith- of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire- may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls." (1 Peter 1:3-9) "Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 1:10-11)

I am confident that daddy received a rich welcome - a hero's welcome - into the eternal kingdom of God! He ran the race diligently to the finish line, and now he has received his prize- God Himself. He longed to hear the words, "Well done my good and faithful servant." His heart's cry was to know God intimately. I am sure he heard the words his heart longed to hear and found his reward in the very embrace of the Father and Son. "I will go the distance 'til I find my hero's welcome waiting in your arms."

Although he has crossed over, his voice, inspired of God, still speaks in the earth. Our lives are living testimonies of how the Lord used (and is still using) Daddy's life, words, and music to transform us eternally! Our godly lives are his voice still speaking. I am so grateful that he finished his 16th book just a few hours before he crossed over! What a treasure and a legacy that we have to still hear "Jesus through Larry" in his books. It reminds me of 2 Peter 1:12-15. I can almost hear Daddy saying, "So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things." Daddy didn't know he was going to lay aside his tent- his "earth suit"- on November 17th, 2004, but his spirit man knew. And God led him to have everything in place, and to have his books completed, just in time.

Today marks the 13th week of Dad's passing (though tomorrow is the actual date of 3 months). It still feels unreal. It probably will for some time. I remember the first thing mom said to me at the hospital when the doctor gave us the news. Through tears she said, "You are not fatherless." I have never been- and I never will be. You too, Cliff. I am discovering this now in different ways than I have ever had to before. Now I have two fathers in heaven.

As I worship God in song I now not only feel close to the Lord, but I feel closer to Dad as well, because he has now joined the great multitude that worships the Lord around His Throne. And as dad taught, "Praise focuses and sharpens the eye of faith. True faith is having E.P., Eternal Perspective!" As I worship, I see eternity more clearly, and now that dad has stepped into eternity, even more so. It seems the farthest we see into eternity is revealed in 1 Corinthians 15:24-28. "Then the end will come, when he (Jesus Christ) hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For he 'has put everything under his feet'. Now when it says that 'everything' has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all." We long for this day and it will surely come.

Every day that passes I am that much closer to joining Daddy in the great cloud of witnesses; to seeing him again and woshipping side by side; having limitless ability to be able to create and express and have fellowship with him and the Lord God Almighty. This life is but a womb and we shall soon be birthed through the canal into immortality.

Until then Lord, please allow dad to see all that you are accomplishing and revealing to us, in us, and through us. Please send the song he wrote "God, please tell my daddy hello", to him from me and from Cliff. And please tell him for me, "I love you infinity to the infinite power. I am honored to be a 'Larry-lookin'-thing'. No one can ever take your place... not even Jesus.
Your firstborn, Stacy Marie. Your Babygirl... Forever."
