Stacy's Heart Concerning Worship And Ministry

Eternal Note

From Stacy's heart concerning worship and ministry

I was raised in a family of worship leaders. My father, Larry Trammell (a forerunner in his eternal message and worship, as well as a great friend, mentor, and personal hero, who is now with the Lord) played a vital role in developing my heart of worship and to see the Bride of Christ established and mature. Regarding the reason he was born, Daddy would say, "To help prepare a bride for the Son of God— a people who care for one another and are totally, deeply, and very passionately in love with Jesus Christ." My heart's cry is the same. I long to see the Church pursuing the unseen things of Christ and His Kingdom, walking in His fullness, knowing Him intimately— accepting no substitutes. I desire to use my songs, talents, skills, experience, and understanding the Lord has given me to train and equip the saints by example so that they might minister to the Lord and then to others; partaking of and participating in eternal worship and expression unto God through song and dance without inhibition, and living lives of loving obedience and devotion to Jesus as victorious overcomers in this present life.

My heart, just as my father's, is to prepare the way of the Lord and encourage others to do so through a lifestyle of complete devotion to Him through utter dependence on Him. Daddy would ask me and my brother, "Why were you born?" to which he taught us the answer, "You were born to know God, love God, and obey God." Eternal life is knowing the Lord, who is Life (John 17:3, 14:6). There is nothing greater than having a personal and genuine relationship with the Lord Jesus. It is why we were created. All things were created by Him, and for Him.

The night before Daddy's sudden and unexpected passing in November of 2004, he, my mother Alice, brother Cliff, husband Edgar, and I were all sitting together around the dinner table talking about the Lord; sharing family night as usual. Daddy said, "When I get to Heaven and all of the throngs are around the Throne worshipping God, the first thing that I am going to do is dive straight into His heart!" Little did we know, less than twelve hours later he was going to be able to do exactly that. Inspired by those words, I wrote a song for him within a week of his passing called "Diving Into His Heart". The Chorus says, "Diving into His heart / Flying within the Son / Plunging into the depths / You have only just begun". In light of eternity, we all have only just begun and now is the time to prepare for that age which is to come. "Praise and worship focuses and sharpens the eye of faith," my father often taught. And, "Faith is the ability to perceive and pursue the unseen things of Christ and His Kingdom." As we worship the Lord, He enables us to see Him and His Kingdom more clearly through a greater Eternal Perspective. It is in that sacred realm of reality with the Lord whereby we come to know Him as He really is and begin to see ourselves as He sees us! We are transformed through our awareness of His ever-present Presence and the revelation of Who He is and Who He is in us.

As a leader my desire is to raise up other leaders; to see the Body do the work of the ministry, not dependent upon any one man to lead them, save the man Christ Jesus! True leadership is being a servant, not having a one-man-show and ordering others to follow. It is gathering the saints unto the Lord as He commanded, "Gather together to Me My saints, those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice" (Psalm 50:5). "And unto Him shall the gathering of the people be" (Gen. 49:10). True leaders get out of the way and lead the flock to Him who is their Pasture; the Bread of Life; the Living Water. They do not seek to draw the people to themselves. My desire is for every saint to express what the Lord has placed within their heart; to see Christ be Christ in His people. Even as it says in Ephesians 4:12, "His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), that they should do the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church)." The purpose of the five–fold ministry is to have a five–fold ministering Body! We are a kingdom of priests to serve our God and we all have something to give to each other and to the Lord. We are the Body, He is the Head, and we must give Him full and complete expression!  This occurs in our every day lives as we "do what we see our Father doing", as well as in our corporate gathering times when, just as the Apostle Paul taught, each of us has something to give for the edification of His Body.  "Well my brothers and sisters, let's summarize. When you meet together, one will sing, another will teach, another will tell some special revelation God has given, one will speak in tongues, and another will interpret what is said. But everything that is done must strenghten all of you" (1 Corinthians 14:26). The purpose is the building up of the Body.

Worship is the atmosphere of Heaven. We are called to participate in the praise and worship that is born in Heaven, not the praise and worship that is born of the earth. The worship that I purpose to enter into, and prophetically call others to when given the opportunity, is the worship going on around the Throne from everlasting to everlasting; the true worship that is completely centered on Jesus and born of His Spirit; the worship that need not be sustained by any man, or man's "format" or "formulas", or any hype, or any work of the flesh; the worship that is of the eternal Kingdom of the Living God; the true worship that the Father seeks- worship in Spirit and in Truth. It transcends man's agendas, concepts, religious bondage, judgment, and fear.  It is spontaneous and fresh and alive because it is born out of relationship with Jesus Christ and revelation from His Holy Spirit in that very moment!

I am an avid songwriter. Singing choruses and hymns absolutely have their place, and I find myself often doing them in my times of singing to the Lord and leading His people in worship. However that is not where worship ends. Yet I find that many gatherings of believers stop there, incorporating only pre-written songs during worship. There is another vital type of song that we must not forget.  That is spiritual songs. Even as it is written "...be filled with the Spirit speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord" (Ephesians 5:18-19). And Colossians 3:16, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." How the Lord desires to release His song in His people's hearts! Who will be His Voice in the earth?!  Who will sing His praises and declare His Word over the nations?!  Who will sing what God is singing right now?!  Who will commune with Him as He is, and learn what is on His heart in this moment (not merely relying on yesterday's revelation, or yesteryear's declaration)?!  Who will be His mouthpiece now?!  Who shall prophecy-- testify of Jesus Christ?!  Jesus said that from our innermost being shall flow "rivers of living water" (John 7:38).  Those rivers are the gushing forth of His Spirit within us, who enables us to walk in His fullness and to proclaim His Kingdom to the ends of the earth! What is He doing in this hour? What praise is due Him? He is worthy of all praise! We are called to sing a new song to the Lord, even new songs from the Lord over the peoples. His Word has creative power.  We are colaborers with Him as we speak His will forth and agree with what He is doing with our lips.  This is revealed in our times of spontaneous and intimate worship with the Lord, as we experience and participate in spiritual songs from and to the Lord.

The Scripture teaches us to, "Pour out Your heart like water in the presence of the Lord" (Lamentations 2:19). As His priests we are called to minister to Him, and praise is the sacrifice that we offer to Him, as well as offer our lives as living sacrifices to God as our spiritual act of worship (Romans 12:1).  When we sing songs to the Lord we are "loving on God". What an amazing thought that we can actually bless the Lord Who has need of nothing! How we touch His heart when we worship Him in Truth and sincerity, especially while on this side of the veil where we can only dimly see Him through the eye of faith. But glory to God, one day that faith shall become sight when we shall see Him as He is and we will be like Him! And even as worship is the atmosphere of Heaven, we can partake of that atmosphere right now as we follow Him in loving obedience wherever He leads; even toward pressing into higher levels of musical and creative expression and singing "a new song" (Psalm 149:1) to Him from our hearts.

True heavenly worship is like diving into the River of God; the River that is forever flowing from the Throne of God, from Him Who sits upon the Throne, the Source of all Life! "There is a river whose streams make glad the City of God" (Psalm 46:4). We are the City of God and His River flows within us and brings us great delight and fulfillment that can only be found through union with Him. Worship ministers to God. Worship ministers to us. Communing with the Father is a bath for our entire being.

With a passion for testifying of Jesus, I truly long to proclaim, impart, and liberate life in God's people so that they might be forever free from man's religious and worldly substitutes, and sinful selfish compromise. God has promised that He will finish the work which He has begun, and I am called to help prepare the Bride for her Husband, the King of Kings! One way I am doing so is through writing, recording, and sharing my songs that have an eternal message relevant to this present life's experiences, and teaching by example those who are willing and hungry about "entering in" to free Spirit-born worship. Praise the Lord for His precious promised Holy Spirit, the Seed of God, Who will surely see Christ take His rightful place as the only Head of the Church! His Temple is not built with hands of men, but by His Spirit. We are living stones fashioned and formed together, in His image.  His Kingdom shall be fully revealed through His glorious Bride--His expression in the earth--who has made herself ready. We shall be one with our Lord and Loving Husband, ruling and reigning and seated with Him on His Throne. Eternally victorious through Him Who is our very Life. God's people will grow into complete maturity, lacking nothing, rooted and grounded in Christ and His love, not needing any man to teach them because they will all know the Lord! The Lord Jesus Christ shall fully reveal Himself to, in, and through His Temple, His Body. Until then, I am one crying out through my song and my life, "Make way! Make way for the King!"

Spiritual insight from Stacy's private music students

It is an honor to mentor those the Lord sends to me and do my part in raising them up as true worshippers and leaders in this generation.  Below are exhortations written by some of my students, including lyrics to a song they have written regarding their topic of exhortation.

What is it that drives me to do the things I do? What leads me to run into the arms of Christ? Why do I want to please my King? I have seen his hand in my life, and am forever changed.

It is a fact. I am being ruined—I no longer can get satisfaction from anything the world gives. I can no longer sit in complacency and be apart from God. I am a helpless being that is growing more lovesick each day—lovesick for God—the only One who can satisfy.

I see myself, and wonder: what in the world am I here for? I am here to praise, and worship, and love my King. He is the only One that can satisfy.

My flesh screams at me, screams at this life vision of letting go of the world. It says I am supposed to be "normal" and follow the standard path, where the necessities of life come equal having a good education, a high paying job, and an expensive house. But, I tell my flesh that this isn't going to happen. There's no way I'm going completely ignore the One who created me. I walk a narrow line. I walk where many choose not to. This reality is not because I am dedicated, it is not because of me, it is because I have been touched by The One and Only. I know He holds the perfect plan for my life. The only way for me to tell where to step next is to be with Abba so much that he becomes all of me, and then wait. Wait for his word, his whisper in my ear telling me where to go.

Yes, I will be an outcast. A cry from this world is invading my generation, that they need to be prestigious in this world. I dare say there is not one person in this nation that hasn't been affected by this. But, will they be truly satisfied when they reach their destination? I can assure you they won't. And aren't.

There is another cry. It is faint, and only in the quietest of places can you hear it. Yes, it is the whisper of Abba. It says, "Trust, wait, and listen to me. Only me."

And a battle rages in my generation. Who will my generation fear most: Will they fear God, or fear man? Who will they obey: God, or man? Will they be willing to lay their life down for God, or will they choose to step where it is easiest? Will they seek the hollow acceptance that man gives, or will they choose to search for the true satisfaction that is found in the secret places of God?

Yes, though the whisper of Abba is faint,  it is growing. Yes, it is growing—slowly but surely. Slowly, now, but faster and faster each day. It is the silent cry of those who are God-sick. It is the cry of a life lived in complete abandon—complete surrender to God. It is a life that only fears God. It is a life that desires all of God--whatever it takes.

It is the cry of those who have found true satisfaction, true hope, true love, true life. It is the cry of those who know that nothing else satisfies—Everything else is a mere shadow of the what God gives to those who sacrificially love him.

Abba's satisfaction keeps growing. Abba takes as much as you give him. He's jealous. And, no, that isn't bad. He is whispering to those who will hear--longing for them to come—not so that He can steal, kill, and destroy, but so He can lavishly bless, share life abundant, and make brand-new.

Who will answer the cry to follow the One and Only?

Who is willing—who is asking—to lay it all down for the cross?

Who is willing—who is asking—to fight till the end, no matter the cost?

Yes, because in reality, all we are, are dead men walking. We have been destroyed by sin, and there is no good in us. But God. Yes, but for God. He is the only one who can transform us. He is the only one who can infuse us with life, who can transform dead bones into living, dancing, worshiping, beings that are blessed beyond what any can comprehend.

But we resist. We reject his offer to give us life, and life abundantly. We complain that he requires too much. We are unwilling to give up our riches in this world for the true and lasting treasures that only God can give.

What are we thinking? We are unwilling to trade our ashes for life, our rags for the robes of princes. We are unwilling to give up our temporary comforts.

So, what will you do?

Who is willing, who is asking, to lay it all down, for the cross?
Who is willing, who is asking, to fight till the end, no matter the cost?

For all we are, are dead men walking
And we are dead, but for You

All I have, I offer You
Cause all I have, came from You
All I am, I offer You
Cause all I am, is because of You

If you're willing to die for Him...are you willing to live for Him?

One of my challenges with the creative process is finishing what I start.  I have multiple hundreds of unfinished ideas or songs.  In some cases, the music is basically there, but the words are incomplete.  However, especially in recent years, I have worshiped anyway, even for much of an entire day.  I realized that the words or music are not what ultimately matters, but the encounter with the Lord.  Human lovers, or even friends, can spend time together without words or music and enjoy the time, so how much more can each of us do so with Jesus - our creator, our savior, our redeemed, the lover of our souls (despite its places of darkness), our bridegroom, our elder brother, the one who calls us friend.  Indeed, I can regard the words and music, even fragments, as bonuses, little kisses of heaven.  I feel like a weight is being lifted off of me.  As the song goes, "I'm coming back to the heart of worship, and it's all about you, Jesus".  Though the music or words may not be all there, He is all there, and we meet – creator to created, savior to saved, redeemer to redeemed, lover to beloved, bridegroom to betrothed bride, brother to brother, friend to friend.  Incompletion is completed in Him.  He is the author and finisher of our faith, so He is the author and finisher of the song we are to Him.

Holy Is Your Name
Words & Music by Matthew Murbach ~ Copyright 2007

Jesus You are holy / You're the Lord God Almighty / You are perfect just and true in all Your ways // All blessing and glory and honor to You / You're the One to whom homage and worship is due / You're forever on Your throne Ancient of Days / (Chorus)  You are the Lord and You reign on high / Giver and Maker Sustainer of life / Darkness is overcome by Your light / Victory's been won by Your power and might / You are worthy of all praise / All heaven and earth proclaim / Holy is Your Name / Jesus You are worthy / You're deserving of all glory / You're the bright and morning star that lights all things // You're clothed in pure splendor with eyes ablaze / So flawless in beauty that all must gaze / Creation stands in awe and to You sings / (Chorus) / We fix our eyes / Upon our Prize / All praise arise / To Jesus Christ // Jesus you are righteous / You have paid the price to save us / You have cleansed us by Your blood and set us free // You're the spotless, unblemished Lamb that was slain / You've delivered, redeemed us, broken all chains / So a bride can know Your love eternally /

This song I wrote is a Love Song Jesus is singing over Israel. I wrote this song from verses: Romans 10:1, "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved." Isaiah 62:1, "For Zion's sake I will not hold My peace, And for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, And her salvation as a lamp that burns." And Isaiah 62:6, "I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night." One part in this song mentions Jesus singing "friends" which, in my opinion, is ones who have His heart for Israel. The Lord has graven Israel on His hand. He burns within for Israel. This song is called "You Are Mine".

Spontaneous Song over Israel

I've set watchmen on your walls / Who will pray night and day / I've raised up intercessors that cry out for your sake / I've put My friends in your gates / Who will burn with Jealous Zeal / I've sent messengers to make sure you get up / Shake off the dust and arise / Cast the shackles off your feet and run to Me / (Chorus) You no longer will sleep / You're no longer a captive / You no longer must slumber / For I have won, so you may live / And now you're Mine / This is My love song to you / I am yours and you are Mine // I have shown My mercy / Though zeal took hold of Me / Come to Me and love Me // I'm zealous for Zion // Israel cast off your chains / Zeal has consumed Me // I want you and you need Me so / Awaken in love
