Who is Stacy Marie?

An accomplished pianist, vocalist, dancer and songwriter, Stacy Marie Trammell Walker has been performing and ministering on stages across America and Europe for over thirty years. She is the daughter of Larry and Alice Trammell who were professional musicians, songwriters, entertainers, authors, missionaries, and worship leaders who functioned in every "office" of the ministry.

Stacy was one of four sopranos chosen nationally to be in the NARAS (National Association of Recording Arts & Sciences) Grammy Jazz Choir in 1996, where she performed with Carlos Santana, Jon Secada, Monica, and Arturo Sandoval. The Grammy In The Schools program made this once in a lifetime opportunity possible, where she was a guest of honor at the Grammy Awards, recorded a CD with A&M Records in Los Angeles, California, and was offered a music scholarship to the highly esteemed Berklee College of Music.

Some of her other accomplishments include being a Voice major in the 1995 Georgia Governor's Honors Program, a member of the Georgia All—State Chorus for six consecutive years (the longest any student can participate), a Georgia Honors Chorus participant, and the lead female role in notable musical productions such as Nancy in "Oliver", Lady Larken in "Once Upon A Mattress", Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair Lady", and Lily in "The Secret Garden". She also performed Carnegie Hall in New York City with the Georgia Youth Chorale in 1994.

Stacy is a local, regional, and national beauty pageant queen bearing titles such as Miss Duluth Princess 1991, Miss Duluth High School 1996, Miss Junior Teen Atlanta 1993, and Miss Cities of America 2nd-Runner up 1993. She has been modeling professionally since the age of 14. She has experience in runway, showroom, print, and commercial modeling, and has worked for clients such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola, Intel, MasterCard, Rich's, and Flax, just to name a few.

Stacy started her private piano studies in 1984 with teacher Debra Shilling, where she was a student of classical music, with special emphasis in the Suzuki Method, for over ten years. She also studied jazz piano for a brief period of time with respected instructor Ted Howe who was a professor at Berklee College of Music, Georgia State University, and is a noted jazz recording artist. Her father Larry Trammell, a highly acclaimed and gifted musician, songwriter and worship leader, was most influential in her musical, performance, and spiritual education. He is one of her biggest heroes! Stacy also studied privately for a season as a professional pianist with renowned concert pianist Lusia Glagoleva of Russia, who has a Ph.D. in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy. In 2009 Stacy was the chosen honored recipeint of the Jeanne Beile Memorial Scholarship, a prestigious teacher training scholarship presented by the Suzuki Association of the Americas.

Stacy had a 3 year season of training at MorningStar Fellowship in Charlotte, North Carolina (now located in Ft. Mill, SC at Heritage International Ministries), where she attended MorningStar School of Ministry and graduated in 1999. During her studies there, she was a keyboardist and vocalist on their worship teams (as she had grown up doing with her family), and was given the hands-on experience of leading worship teams in both small and large gatherings, as well as ministering in song at their conferences.

While living in Charlotte she became a professional Ballroom and Latin dance instructor and competitor with Fred Astaire Dance Studios, which is where she met her husband, Edgar Walker, on his birthday in September of 1998! They were wed in May of 2001. (Stacy and Edgar had an incredibly unique and spectacular Cinderella theme wedding. It was a remarkable worship experience and an unforgettable prophetic celebration full of symbolism and creativity.)  Continuing to excel in dancing, Stacy placed in many regional and national dance competitions with Fred Astaire Dance Studios including 4th place in the Mixed Novice Division at the Southeastern Dancesport Championship in 1998 (her first competition), and 3rd place in Closed Smooth and 6th place in Open Rhythm at the 2004 National Dancesport Championship (her last competition). She became one of the top female dance instructors in the nation, and received the prestigious Gold Freddy teaching award in 2002. She was soon promoted to manage the Fred Astaire studio in Duluth, Georgia, which grew to become one of the top new studios in the nation.

Stacy gave up dancing in November of 2004 after her father's sudden and unexpected passing. She began doing music and ministry fulltime, picking up the torch where her father left off and running the race set before her fervently.  Her husband Edgar still teaches ballroom dancing.

She was the worship leader for the 9:35 ALIVE contemporary service at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur, Georgia, for 5 years, where she led the praise band and congregation on Sunday mornings.

Stacy spent 100 days in Romania from October 2010-January 2011, beginning the official production of Album 1 of her TRANSCEND: The Trilogy album project with Romanian worship leader and producer Cornel Olar. While there she taught music classes to the poor gypsy children through the Christian humanitarian aid organization Talmid Ministries. Through Talmid's sponsorship programs, widows, families, and children financially supported and educated. Talmid spreads the Gospel of Jesus Christ through loving the poor, teaching, discipleship, conferences, and providing a place of refuge for many. Stacy lived with the founders of Talmid Ministries, nestled away in the small village of Romosel, Romania, as she produced her "TRANSCEND: Trials & Tribulation" album. She also led worship a different Romanian church gatherings, and performed in public venues in the larger city of Cluj. In the summer of 2011, Cornel Olar and his wife Shari came to the States and toured with Stacy doing music ministry concerts as a pre-release tour for TRANSCEND. In 2012 they returned to continue recording and to have the Premiere concert for Album 1 on November 17, 2012, the 8th anniversary of her father's passing. (The "Deliver Us From Evil" video at the top of the page is from that special event.) In June 2014 Stacy returned to Romania to finish the recording and post-production with Cornel.

Stacy is currently teaching private Voice and Piano lessons out of her music studio in the Buford/Lawrenceville area near the Mall of Georgia.  She sees her students on a weekly basis for private lessons, and a once a month group class. She also offers an 8-week adult group Music Theory Class periodically. She also works as a professional musician for piano and vocal gigs such as weddings, country club luncheons, corporate events, and private parties. Stacy is on call as a worship leader/psalmist at the International House of Prayer Atlanta, which is a 24-hour worship and intercession missions base located in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Stacy also peridocially leads worship at a Bible Study led by her grandfather in the faith, 98 year old "Papa" Don Murphy, who is a steward of the mysteries of God.  A collection of his writings and admonitions can be found on his ministry website tareburner.com. For more information on Stacy's heart for worship and eternal perspective please visit the "Eternal Note" page.

Stacy has a younger brother Cliff Trammell, mother Alice Trammell, and father Larry Trammell---who has now joined the great cloud of witnesses in eternity. He authored 16 Christian books which he completed just hours before he crossed into eternity in November of 2004 at the age of 50. Stacy is one of the key editors for his books, The Highest Calling Of All Discipleship Series, and is grateful for the legacy that he has left behind.  He touched many many lives while still in his "tent" on this side of the veil and he is continuing to accomplish much in the eternal realm. His passing was like a seed dying in the earth, which has already borne much fruit in the lives of those who knew him, and will bear even more fruit to be fully revealed in the days and the ages to come. His labors and sacrifice were eternally significant and he has now come to his exceedingly great and precious Reward, the Lord Jesus Himself.

Like her father, Stacy is a gifted and avid Christian songwriter and has completed two albums thus far in her recording career, "My Best Friend" (2001) and "Music In The Making" (2010).  She is currently working on her next original CD project "TRANSCEND: Trials & Tribulation" which is expected to be released Summer 2015. TRANSCEND: The Trilogy is a Christian musical epic about the journey of the overcomer. To hear the sampler CD please click here.
